Area Attractions

There are so many attractions in the area, and many are within easy walking distance. The entrance to the Fair Haven Beach State Park is right across the street – where a mile’s walk will take you to the edge of Lake Ontario, and the Sterling Renaissance Festival is a just a short drive away.  Also within walking distance is the Little Sodus Bay waterfront  with access to water activities such as boat rental and fishing  – and public swimming is available at the West Barrier Bar Park.  For the fitness enthusiasts, we have nearby walking & bicycle  trails or if you prefer head downtown for a yoga or fitness class at  the Bayview Wellness center.  While downtown don’t forget to visit some of our unique shops and restaurants.   Experience some real local flavor at the Hardware Café , then stroll down the street to check out the art at South Shore Artisans or stop in the Fair Haven Arts Center to take in one of our summer art shows or even take an art class. And don’t forget to stop at the Front Porch gift shop for a souvenir to take home, or the Fly by Night Cookie Company for some delicious sweets. Later in the day, you may want to sample some cider at the Sterling Cidery or stop at Brandons Irish pub (where there’s always a good time), or have dinner on the water at the Pleasant Beach  Hotel & restaurant – all within walking distance.
